Fair 1-5 point rating with masterpiece extension, heavily biased towards the things I personally like or dislike.
Half-point ratings are interpolations between related numbers, of course, and more details are always given in per-work notes.
As for the biases, I’m a simple man, I like my power fantasy - curb-stomps, rational stuff, less morals and more action, no grimderp, cute lesbian romance (thanks, wormfic), smut with a grain of taste - are all the things I’m giving praises to, while taking notes from cw flash writers will get the work thrown in the dumpster where it belongs.

N/A (previously 0⭑)
This is for things that I cannot evaluate - maybe I didn’t read the thing at all (to read
lists?) or maybe it’s one of those things which I cant compute, like overly abstract ones etc. where I can see that the effort was there to make it, and other people appreciate it, but I cannot. -
1⭑
Both grammar and story are horrible.
Usually 1-star rating is for works that get dropped immediately based on poor grammar or - sometimes - on (very) bad story starts, maybe I was mislead by description or something. -
2⭑
Similar to 1⭑ but the grammar was good, or the story managed to make up for it a little.
Often given to stories which had potential in the first chapter only to crash immediately after - for example setting up a god character only for them to never let go of the idiot ball, or things of a similar level - this is annoying and misleading.
Very rarely don’t get dropped before their end - but sometimes given to stories that didn’t catch me and were just plain boring as hell or something. -
3⭑
Run of the mill stories that I often finish reading, but nothing special had come up, or maybe they have non-major drawbacks explained in the notes.
No reread potential, although that depends. -
4⭑
Great ones which were entertaining at least. Minor drawbacks, good reread potential. -
5⭑
Amazing ones which ticked every box I look for in (fan)fiction, I had fun, it was entrapping, I often binge those if I happen to land on one.
Some of those I’ve reread multiple times and plan on doing so every year or more when the memory fades enough. -
7⭑
Masterpieces, works of art.
Something that I think back with “holy shit that was amazing”.
Even if otherwise it could’ve been a 4⭑ or even a 3⭑ due to my personal preferences, I acknowledge that that work was something else.
Reread potential varies too ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Should have a “why” section in the noteSeven because six looked meh, idk
